The Mission

The USMA Speech team competes in three areas of oral competition; individual speaking events, oral interpretation events, and Lincoln Douglas Debate. Individual Speaking events include persuasive speaking, informative speaking, extemporaneous speaking, and communication analysis. Interpretation events include, prose, poetry, dramatic interpretation, and dramatic duo. Lincoln Douglas Debate deals with creating an affirmative and negative argument dealing with an issue of the day.The team competes in 12 tournaments a year to include 2 international tournaments. The team has placed in seven separate tournaments this year.
